Omoda EV Charging & V2L Cables

Both of Omoda's UK cars support vehicle-to-load, the electric 5 and the plug-in hybrid 9, and the discharge cable below is what makes it usable. It goes into the Type 2 charging socket and gives you a three-pin outlet rated to 3.6kW at the other end, comfortably enough for camping gear, tools, or a fridge freezer running off the battery.

Day to day charging is a different lead entirely: a standard Type 2 to Type 2. Choose 5m on a driveway, 10m if you lean on public posts.

Choosing the right cable for your Omoda

Omoda arrived in Britain recently as part of the Chery group, alongside Jaecoo. The electric E5 is the model that plugs in, and it offers vehicle-to-load, which is worth knowing because it is not something most cars at this price provide.

Connector spec by model

  • Omoda E5 (2024+): Type 2 + CCS. Around 7.4kW AC. 61kWh battery. V2L supported.
  • Omoda 5 petrol: no charge port. Only the E5 plugs in.

Check the badge before you buy

The Omoda 5 and the Omoda E5 look similar and the names differ by one letter. Only the E5 is electric. If your car has no charge flap, nothing on this page applies.

Vehicle-to-load is a separate cable

The E5 can supply mains power from its own battery, which is a genuinely useful feature for camping, market stalls or running tools away from a socket. That needs a V2L discharge cable, not a charging lead, and we stock one for Omoda. See our V2L adapter range. The two cables do opposite jobs and are not interchangeable.

Charging is undemanding

At around 7.4kW into a 61kWh battery, a full charge is roughly eight hours. That is a straightforward overnight car, and the 32amp single-phase lead supplies everything it can take. The 22kW three-phase cable has nothing to offer here.

A new marque means thinner parts supply

The UK dealer network is still small. A replacement lead through the franchise takes longer than it would from an established brand, which is the practical case for a spare in the boot.
