Fiat EV Charging Cables

A single cable, so there is not much to wade through. Fiat's electric models sold in the UK charge through a Type 2 inlet, which is the connector to look for.

At home, the practical limit on a standard domestic supply is 7.4kW, and that is plenty to fill a small battery overnight several times over. A Mode 2 granny charger is a useful thing to keep in the boot as a backup for nights away from your own wallbox. 2 year warranty, 30 day returns, dispatched same day if you order before 4pm.

Choosing the right cable for your Fiat

Fiat's electric range is built around small cars with small batteries, which makes it one of the easier ranges to buy a cable for. There is one vehicle in the line-up that needs nothing from this page at all, so start there.

The Topolino does not take a charging cable

Like the Citroën Ami it shares its platform with, the Fiat Topolino is a quadricycle with a charging lead permanently attached to the vehicle, plugging straight into a household socket. It has no Type 2 socket. Nothing here fits it, and a Type 2 lead would be a wasted purchase.

Connector spec by model

  • 500e (2020+): Type 2 + CCS. 11kW AC on the 42kWh car, 6.6kW on the 24kWh entry version. 85kW DC.
  • 600e (2023+): Type 2 + CCS. 11kW AC. 54kWh. 100kW DC.
  • Grande Panda Electric (2024+): Type 2 + CCS. 7.4kW or 11kW AC. 44kWh.
  • E-Doblo / E-Ulysse: Type 2 + CCS. 7.4kW or 11kW AC. 50kWh.
  • Topolino: integrated 3-pin lead. No Type 2 socket.

Small batteries make this range forgiving

A 42kWh 500e on a 7.4kW home wallbox is about six hours from empty. Even the 16amp lead gets it done overnight. That means the choice is genuinely about length and build quality rather than charging speed, which is not true of larger EVs.

The 24kWh 500e is the slow one

Early entry-level 500es have a 6.6kW onboard charger rather than 11kW. On a British single-phase supply the practical difference is small, because the supply caps at 7.4kW anyway.

Length recommendations

The 500e charge port is on the rear wing, and these are short cars, which usually means the port sits closer to the wall than on an SUV. 5m genuinely suits many 500e owners. 10m if you use public bays. Compare across our Type 2 charging cables.

What we stock for Fiat

  • Type 2 to Type 2 cables from 5m to 20m.
  • Type 2 to 3-pin Mode 2 leads, which suit a small battery well.
  • The same leads fit Abarth, which is a Fiat underneath.

Questions

Do I need a cable for a Fiat Topolino?
No. The Topolino is a quadricycle with a charging lead built into the vehicle that plugs into a household socket. It has no Type 2 socket.
What cable does a Fiat 500e need?
A Type 2 lead. The 32amp single-phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the everyday choice, though a 16amp lead also fills the battery overnight.
What length suits a 500e?
5m is genuinely enough for many owners, because the car is short and the rear charge port often ends up near the wallbox. 10m if you rely on public bays.
Is the 24kWh 500e different?
It has a 6.6kW onboard charger rather than 11kW, but on a British single-phase supply the practical difference is small.
Will an Abarth cable fit my Fiat?
Yes. Abarth's electric cars are Fiats underneath and use the same Type 2 connector.
