Overview

A simple adapter power source (Jaecoo only)

Our (V2L) Vehicle to Load cable, also known as Vehicle to Device (V2D), lets a Jaecoo 7 or Jaecoo 5 act as a mobile power source for home appliances.

There is no setup to speak of: plug into your Type 2 charge port and select the discharge option on your car's infotainment system display.

Up to 3.3kW of load is available, depending on the car model. Enough to power camping equipment miles from the nearest socket.

One warning worth reading carefully. Vehicle to load cables should not be connected to any other electrical system, as there is no voltage or phase synchronisation. Failing to adhere to this will void your vehicle warranty and has the potential to cause serious damage to both the connected system and your vehicle.

What IP44 means

The IP44 (Ingress Protection Rating) means our cables will operate in dusty conditions and will resist splashes of water while mated. The charging process is not fully water sealed, so the cable should never be submerged in water.

Cable information

16A, 3G1.5, 10.5mm diameter.

Charging cable safety

  • The cable can be kept outside, but keep it out of puddles.
  • Fit the rubber dust cover whenever the cable is not in use, so debris stays out of the connector.
  • Moisture is the fault we see most often. It leads to corrosion of the pins, which is not covered by our warranty.

Is there a risk charging in the rain?

Water can get into the plug and charging socket during the inserting and removing of the plug from the car. In practice, as soon as the charge port is open or the car is unplugged, rain reaches the pins and stays there until the next time you charge.

FAQs

Which Jaecoo models does it suit?
The Jaecoo 7 and the Jaecoo 5. It is a Jaecoo-only cable and will not work on other makes.
How much can I run from it?
Up to 3.3kW depending on the car model, which covers camping equipment, hand tools and most ordinary household appliances. Check the rating plate on anything large before you plug it in.
Can I feed it into another electrical system?
No. Vehicle to load cables should not be connected to any other electrical system, as there is no voltage or phase synchronisation. Failing to adhere to this will void your vehicle warranty and has the potential to cause serious damage to both the connected system and your vehicle.
Does the car need V2L built in?
Yes. The discharge option lives in the car's infotainment system, so the vehicle has to support V2L. The cable gives you the outlet, not the capability.
What does IP44 mean for a cable like this?
The Ingress Protection rating means our cables will operate in dusty conditions and will resist splashes of water while mated. The process is not fully water sealed, so the cable should never be submerged in water.
How do I keep it in good condition?
Keep it out of puddles, fit the rubber dust cover whenever it is not in use so debris stays out of the connector, and dry the pins if they have been rained on. Moisture is the fault we see most often, and the corrosion it leads to is not covered by our warranty.

What customers say about us

  • First class service

First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
