Accessibility

EV Cable Hub is committed to making evcablehub.co.uk usable by everyone, regardless of ability or assistive technology. This statement explains our current compliance, known limitations and how to report problems.

Compliance status

This website is designed to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We test against this standard during design and development.

What we've built in

  • Semantic HTML throughout, with proper heading hierarchy.
  • All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable. Focus states are visible.
  • Skip-to-content link on every page (press Tab as the page loads).
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG AA — body text contrast ratio is 7:1 or better.
  • All product and decorative images have alternative text where required.
  • Form fields have visible labels and ARIA descriptions.
  • Mobile reflow at 320 px without loss of content or functionality.
  • Animations and motion respect prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

We're aware of the following areas that don't yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We're working on each of them:

  • Some product images do not yet carry detailed alternative text. We're rewriting alt text product-by-product through 2026.
  • Some embedded video content (e.g. installation videos on PDPs) does not yet carry captions. We're adding captions retrospectively.
  • Older blog posts have heading hierarchy gaps. We are auditing.

Equality Act 2010

Our accessibility commitment is informed by the Equality Act 2010 and the EU Web Accessibility Directive (where applicable). We treat accessibility as a continuous obligation, not a one-off audit.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If something on the site doesn't work for you — a feature you can't use, a page you can't read, an action you can't complete — please tell us. We'll investigate within 5 working days and report back with a fix or a workaround.

Enforcement

If you believe we are not meeting our accessibility obligations under the Equality Act 2010, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for advice on next steps.
