What's covered
Faults in materials or workmanship that show up within 2 years of delivery. That includes a connector that stops locking or charging, broken wiring inside the cable, a control box on a granny charger that stops working, and a V2L adapter that no longer supplies power.
It applies to everything you buy from EV Cable Hub, including our own-brand range. Where a manufacturer gives longer cover, you get that too, and we still handle the claim.
What isn't covered
- Damage from being driven over, crushed, cut or shut in a door.
- Connectors that have been dropped hard or left in standing water with the caps off.
- Normal wear, such as scuffs and faded markings.
- Cables that someone else has opened up, repaired or modified.
- Use above the rated current, or plugging into a socket that is itself damaged or faulty.
- Running a granny charger from an extension lead.
Not sure if your fault is covered? Send us a photo and ask. It costs nothing to check.
How to claim
- Stop using it. A damaged EV cable can give an electric shock, so please don't carry on charging with it.
- Email us. Send your order number, what's gone wrong and a photo or short video if you can to jake@evcablehub.co.uk.
- We reply within one working day. If it's a fault, we'll email you a prepaid returns label.
- We put it right. Once we've checked it, we'll send a replacement, or refund you if that product is no longer available. You'll hear from us by email at each step.
Keep your order confirmation email. It's your proof of purchase, and it has your order number on it.
Trade and fleet customers
Business customers get the same 2 years. If you look after cables across a fleet or several sites, send every claim to the same address and we'll deal with them together. More on our trade and fleet accounts.
Your legal rights
This warranty sits on top of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. It doesn't replace them. If a product is faulty you can reject it for a full refund within 30 days. After that you can ask for a repair or replacement, and a fault that appears within 6 months is presumed to have been there from the start unless we can show otherwise. Even after the 2 years are up, you may be able to claim for up to 6 years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, or 5 years in Scotland. See our returns and refunds policy for the details.
