Editorial policy

Our buying guides, product comparisons and journal articles are written to help you make a good purchase decision — not to sell you a specific product. This policy explains how we keep editorial separate from commercial.

Independence

The EV Cable Hub journal is editorially independent of our buying team and our marketing team. Editors choose stories on merit. Manufacturers do not pay to be featured, recommended or compared favourably. Manufacturers may pay for advertising, but advertising is clearly labelled and never determines editorial coverage.

Affiliate and commercial relationships

Almost every product we cover is one we sell. That is the nature of a specialist retailer. Where we link to a product, the link goes to our own product page. We do not run a separate affiliate scheme.

Where we name a product we do not sell — typically in comparison content — we do so without commercial relationship. We disclose if a comparison piece was prompted by a media kit or pitch from a manufacturer.

How we test

  • Hands-on where possible — our recommendations reflect real-world use by EV drivers on our team, not spec sheets alone.
  • Specifications cross-checked against the manufacturer's data sheet and against the relevant IEC/BS standard.
  • Comparison tests include products we don't sell where they're materially relevant to the buying decision.
  • We disclose how we tested in every comparison piece.

Sources and citation

Where we make factual claims (charging speeds, market share, regulatory rules), we link to the primary source — gov.uk, IEC, BS, the manufacturer's spec sheet, or the relevant industry body. We don't aggregate "everyone says" claims without provenance.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it. The correction is dated and visible at the foot of the article. Material corrections are flagged at the top.

AI use

Editorial content on this site is written by named human editors. We may use AI tools to help with research, structure or first drafts — but every article is reviewed, fact-checked and approved by a human editor before publication.

Authors

Every article carries a byline and a link to the author's bio, including their qualifications and relevant experience. We don't publish anonymously.

Reader feedback

We read every comment, email and review. We update articles based on reader corrections and questions. The most useful additions tend to come from real customers describing their actual install — please write in.
