Choosing the right cable for your Skywell
Skywell sells the BE11 in Britain through an importer rather than a manufacturer-owned network. The car is conventional to charge, but there is one thing worth checking that owners of mainstream brands never have to think about.
Check what actually came with the car
Vehicles supplied through importers vary in what is included. Some BE11s were delivered with a Type 2 lead, some with only a 3-pin granny charger, and some with neither. If you have taken delivery and are unsure which you have, look for a cable with a seven-pin connector at both ends. That is the everyday lead. A cable with a household plug on one end is the backup, not the main charger.

An 86kWh battery is a full night
At 7.4kW on a British single-phase supply that is around twelve hours from empty. The BE11 rewards a wallbox and a routine rather than opportunistic charging, and the 32amp single-phase lead is the right rating for almost every owner.
Standard connector, independent supply
The BE11 uses Type 2, so there is no need to source a lead through the importer at importer prices. Any cable meeting the standard is the correct part, and buying independently avoids waiting on a small parts operation.
