Choosing the right cable for your Rolls-Royce
The Spectre is a full electric car rather than a plug-in hybrid, which sets it apart from most of the cars at this end of the market. It has a large battery, a genuinely fast onboard AC charger, and it takes real time to fill from a domestic supply.

- Spectre (2023+): Type 2 + CCS. Up to 22kW AC. Around 102kWh battery. 195kW DC.
One of the few cars that can use a 22kW lead
Most electric cars cap at 11kW on AC and many at 7.4kW. The Spectre's onboard charger goes to 22kW, so on a three-phase supply it will use the whole of a three-phase cable. On a 102kWh battery that is the difference between roughly fourteen hours and about five.
The question is the property, not the car
Three-phase power is uncommon in British homes, though rather more common on the kind of property a Spectre tends to live at. If the supply is single-phase the car draws 7.4kW whatever cable is fitted, and the 32amp lead is the right buy. It is worth asking your electrician rather than assuming either way.
Charging where the car is stored
Spectres are frequently kept in a garage or outbuilding some distance from the main consumer unit, and often moved by someone other than the owner. A longer lead removes the daily judgement about whether the car is parked close enough.
Length recommendations
The Spectre is over five metres long. 10m is a minimum and 15m is reasonable. Compare across our Type 2 charging cables.
