Choosing the right cable for your Zeekr

Zeekr is Geely's premium electric brand, built around high-voltage architecture and marketed on very fast DC charging. Those figures are real and they are also completely separate from the lead you buy for home use, which is the distinction worth making before you spend anything.

Connector spec by model

  • 001: Type 2 + CCS. Up to 11kW AC. Around 100kWh battery.
  • X: Type 2 + CCS. Up to 11kW AC. Around 66kWh.
  • 7X: Type 2 + CCS. Up to 11kW AC. 800-volt architecture.

DC and AC are different systems

A rapid charger delivers DC straight to the battery through a cable permanently attached to the unit. You never buy one. What you buy is the AC lead for home wallboxes and public posts, and on AC a Zeekr is an ordinary 11kW car whatever its DC peak says.

What that means overnight

A 100kWh Zeekr 001 on a single-phase 7.4kW supply is around fourteen hours from empty. On three-phase at 11kW it is closer to nine. The 32amp single-phase lead is the everyday cable for almost every British owner, because almost no British house has three-phase power.

Group hardware

Zeekr sits under Geely alongside Volvo, Polestar and Lotus, and shares the Type 2 connector with all of them. A lead bought for any of those cars is the correct part.

Length recommendations

10m minimum on the 001, which is a long estate. Compare across our Type 2 charging cables.

What we stock for Zeekr

  • Type 2 to Type 2 cables from 5m to 20m, 3.6kW to 22kW.
  • Type 2 to 3-pin Mode 2 leads for household sockets.

Questions

What cable does a Zeekr need?
A Type 2 lead. The 32amp single-phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the everyday one on a British home supply.
The car charges very fast, do I need a special cable?
No. Those figures come from DC rapid chargers, which have their own tethered cable attached to the unit.
How long does a Zeekr 001 take to charge at home?
Around fourteen hours from empty at 7.4kW for the 100kWh battery, or closer to nine on three-phase.
Is it the same connector as a Volvo or Polestar?
Yes. Zeekr sits under Geely alongside them and shares the Type 2 connector.
Is the three-phase cable worth buying?
Only on a property with three-phase power. The onboard charger caps at 11kW, which is the most the car could draw.
