Choosing the right cable for your Fisker

Fisker collapsed, and Ocean owners have spent since then finding out which parts of the car depend on the manufacturer still existing and which do not. Charging is firmly in the second category, and it is worth explaining exactly why.

Connector spec by model

  • Ocean (2023-2024): Type 2 + CCS. Up to 11kW AC. Battery from around 75kWh to 113kWh depending on trim.

Why the cable is not an orphaned part

Charging connectors are defined by an industry standard, IEC 62196-2, not by the carmaker. The socket on an Ocean is the same physical and electrical interface as the one on a Volkswagen, a Volvo or a Kia. Any cable that meets the standard works, which means a replacement is an ordinary purchase from an ordinary supplier rather than a hunt for discontinued stock.

Public charging is unaffected

UK public AC posts are Type 2 sockets. They do not check what badge is on the car. The same is true of any home wallbox. Nothing about the manufacturer's situation changes what infrastructure your car can use.

The warranty on this cable is ours

Every lead we sell carries a 24 month manufacturer warranty from us, backed by our returns policy rather than Fisker's. That is worth stating plainly, because it is one of the few things about Ocean ownership that has not become complicated.

What we cannot help with

Cables are straightforward. Software, app access and diagnostics on an Ocean are not, and nothing on this site addresses those. We sell the physical part that connects your car to a charger, and that part is fully supported.

Length recommendations

10m suits most driveways. The Ocean's charge port is on the rear wing. Compare across our Type 2 charging cables.

What we stock for Fisker

  • Type 2 to Type 2 cables from 5m to 20m, 3.6kW to 22kW.
  • Type 2 to 3-pin Mode 2 leads for household sockets.

Questions

Can I still buy a charging cable for a Fisker Ocean?
Yes. The Ocean uses the industry-standard Type 2 connector, so a replacement is an ordinary purchase regardless of what happened to Fisker.
Will public chargers still work with my Ocean?
Yes. UK public AC posts are Type 2 sockets and do not care what badge is on the car.
Who honours the warranty on the cable?
We do. Every lead carries a 24 month warranty from us, backed by our returns policy rather than the carmaker's.
What rating should I buy?
The 32amp single-phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Ocean accepts up to 11kW, which a British single-phase supply caps at 7.4kW anyway.
Can you help with app or software problems?
No. We supply the physical charging cable. Software and diagnostics on an Ocean are a separate matter we cannot assist with.
