Van charging usually happens overnight, at a depot or at home, and on a single-phase supply that means up to 7.4kW, which for an overnight stop is plenty. Length is worth thinking about more than most people expect: vans are often reversed into bays or left at odd angles, so a 10m lead can save a lot of shuffling. Choosing the right cable for your LDV

LDV and Maxus are the same manufacturer under two badges, and the DVLA may record either depending on when your vehicle was registered. These are working vehicles, and that changes what matters in a cable more than any specification does.

Connector spec by model

  • eDeliver 3: Type 2 + CCS. 6.6kW AC. 35kWh or 52.5kWh.
  • eDeliver 9: Type 2 + CCS. 11kW AC. 51.5kWh to 88.55kWh.
  • MIFA 9: Type 2 + CCS. 11kW AC. 90kWh.
  • T90EV pickup: Type 2 + CCS. 11kW AC. 88.55kWh.

Vans get charged where the shift ends

A car lives on the same driveway every night. A van is plugged in at a depot, on a kerb, in a yard, or wherever it stopped. That argues for buying longer than the tape measure suggests, and for caring about the cable's build rather than only its rating. All our Type 2 leads are rated to be driven over, which stops mattering on a driveway and starts mattering a great deal on a working site.

The big batteries need the overnight slot

An 88.55kWh eDeliver 9 on a single-phase 7.4kW supply is around twelve hours from empty. For most fleets that is fine, because the vehicle sits overnight anyway. Where a depot has three-phase power, the 22kW lead lets the van reach its 11kW ceiling and brings that to about eight hours, which can be the difference between one shift and two.

The eDeliver 3 is the slow one

At 6.6kW it cannot use a 32amp supply in full, so the cable rating is not the constraint. Length and durability are.

Length recommendations

15m or 20m is a reasonable default for a van, where 10m would be right for a car. Compare across our Type 2 charging cables.

Yes. They are the same manufacturer under two badges and the charging arrangement is identical. The same cable fits.
What cable does an eDeliver 9 need?
A Type 2 lead. The 32amp single-phase cable on an ordinary supply, or the 22kW three-phase lead if the depot has three-phase power.
What length should I buy for a van?
15m or 20m is a reasonable default. Vans get charged wherever the shift ends rather than on the same driveway every night.
Will the cable survive depot use?
Our Type 2 leads are rated run-over proof and IP55 sealed, which is the relevant specification for a working vehicle.
How long does an eDeliver 9 take to charge?
Around twelve hours from empty on a single-phase 7.4kW supply for the 88.55kWh battery, or about eight on three-phase.
