This is a Vehicle to Load cable, occasionally called Vehicle to Device (V2D), made for the Deepal S05 and Deepal S07. It turns the car into a mobile power source for household appliances. Plug it into the Type 2 charge port, choose the discharge option on the infotainment display, and the car starts feeding the socket. You can draw up to 2.5kW of load depending on the model, which covers camping equipment miles from the nearest hook-up, power tools at the bottom of a field, or the awkward jobs that always sit just beyond the reach of an extension lead.

One firm warning: V2L cables must not be connected to any other electrical system. There is no voltage or phase synchronisation. Ignoring this voids your vehicle warranty and risks serious damage to both the connected system and the car itself.

  • IP44 rated, so it copes with dust and resists water splashes while mated. The connection is not fully water sealed and must never be submerged.

Getting the best out of it

The cable can live outside, but keep it clear of puddles. Use the rubber dust cover between sessions to stop debris building up in the connector. Moisture is far and away the most common cause of trouble, and the corroded pins that follow are not covered by warranty.

On rain: water gets into the plug and the charge socket during connection and disconnection. As soon as the charge port is opened or the cable pulled, rain sits on the pins until the next time you plug in. Browse the rest of our V2L adapters for other vehicle fitments.

Installation

  1. 01Park up and leave the car in the mode its handbook specifies for discharge.
  2. 02Plug the connector into the car's charge port until the latch clicks.
  3. 03Enable discharge on the car - the infotainment menu or the button on the connector, depending on the model. See Specifications for this one.
  4. 04Check the socket is live before you plug anything in, and keep the outlet end dry and off the ground.

FAQs

Will this work on my Changan?
It is a Changan-only cable, built for the Deepal S05 and Deepal S07. One thing to check first: we have had reports that some deliveries from 06/2023 onwards have had the V2L function disabled or removed, so confirm with your dealer before ordering.
What can it actually power?
Anything that sits inside the load limit, which is up to 2.5kW depending on the model. Camping equipment, power tools and general household appliances are all fine. Anything drawing more than the car will supply simply will not run.
Can I plug it into my house wiring or a generator?
No. A V2L cable must not be connected to any other electrical system, because there is no voltage or phase synchronisation. Ignoring this voids your vehicle warranty and risks serious damage to both the connected system and the car itself.
Does my car need to support V2L?
Yes. The discharge function has to be present in the vehicle, and you select it on the infotainment display once the cable is plugged in. The cable cannot add the capability to a car that does not have it.
Can I use it outside in the rain?
It can live outside, but keep it clear of puddles and never submerge it. Water reaches the pins during plugging and unplugging, then sits there until the next session, so fit the rubber dust cover between uses. Moisture is the most common cause of trouble, and the corroded pins that follow are not covered by warranty.
Which length should I order?
Measure from the charge port to where the appliance will sit and add a little slack. Most owners running tools or camping kit near the car are happy with 5m, while 10m and 15m suit a pitch or a work area some distance away.
