This is a Vehicle to Load cable, occasionally called Vehicle to Device (V2D), made for the Deepal S05 and Deepal S07. It turns the car into a mobile power source for household appliances. Plug it into the Type 2 charge port, choose the discharge option on the infotainment display, and the car starts feeding the socket. You can draw up to 2.5kW of load depending on the model, which covers camping equipment miles from the nearest hook-up, power tools at the bottom of a field, or the awkward jobs that always sit just beyond the reach of an extension lead.

One firm warning: V2L cables must not be connected to any other electrical system. There is no voltage or phase synchronisation. Ignoring this voids your vehicle warranty and risks serious damage to both the connected system and the car itself.

Cable specification

• 16A, 3G1.5, 10.5mm diameter
• IP44 rated, so it copes with dust and resists water splashes while mated. The connection is not fully water sealed and must never be submerged.

Getting the best out of it

The cable can live outside, but keep it clear of puddles. Use the rubber dust cover between sessions to stop debris building up in the connector. Moisture is far and away the most common cause of trouble, and the corroded pins that follow are not covered by warranty.

On rain: water gets into the plug and the charge socket during connection and disconnection. As soon as the charge port is opened or the cable pulled, rain sits on the pins until the next time you plug in. Browse the rest of our V2L adapters for other vehicle fitments.
