Overview
The ID.4 is Volkswagen's fully electric SUV, built on the dedicated MEB electric platform. It is roomy inside and, depending on the variant, will cover up to 323 miles on the WLTP cycle, which makes it as workable for long trips as it is for the school run.
Charging is through a Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable. The onboard AC charger tops out at 11 kW, so for the quickest home or public AC charging we recommend the three-phase 32A lead, which delivers the full 11 kW and takes the car from empty to full in around 8 hours 15 minutes. On DC the ID.4 will accept up to 135 kW, giving 5 to 80% in approximately 38 minutes on a compatible rapid charger.
Which cable suits an ID.4
- Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable. The lead most ID.4 owners want, working with home wall boxes and public charging stations across the UK. Available in 5m and 10m lengths.
- Type 2 to 3-Pin charging cable. Plugs into a standard UK household socket, which makes it a practical backup for home charging when there is no dedicated wall box. Also available in 5m and 10m lengths.
All our EV charging cables are CE / TUV safety certified, weather resistant with an IP66 rating, and come with a two-year manufacturer's warranty and free UK delivery.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
