Overview
Taycan owners tend to be well served on the DC side and under-served on the AC side. The car will take up to 270 kW at a compatible rapid charger, which adds significant range in just minutes, but the majority of charging any Taycan does happens overnight on a wall box or across a working day in a car park. That is where the cable matters, and it is worth buying a good one.
The Porsche Taycan is a fully electric performance saloon with a range of up to 250 miles (400 km) on a single charge. It uses a Type 2 to Type 2 charging cable, and its onboard AC charger accepts a maximum of 11 kW. For the fastest home or public AC charging we recommend the three-phase 32A lead, which takes the car from empty to full in around 8 hours.

Three-phase option
Pick the 32A three-phase version to charge at up to 22kW where a three-phase supply is available. The single-phase versions charge at up to 7.2kW on a standard home wallbox.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.
