Overview
The Cayenne E-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid luxury SUV, so it handles the school run and the supermarket trip on electricity while keeping the Porsche performance for everything else. The 17.9 kWh battery gives an electric-only range suited to shorter journeys, and topping it up at home is what keeps the running costs down.
Charging runs through a Type 2 port with a maximum onboard AC rate of 7.2 kW. A single-phase 32A cable reaches that ceiling, which makes it the fastest option for this car. A three-phase cable will not go any quicker, because the limit sits in the vehicle rather than in the cable, but it does future-proof you if your next EV has a faster onboard charger.
We stock the Type 2 to Type 2 cable in 5m and 10m, and the Type 2 to 3-Pin cable in the same two lengths for charging from a standard UK socket.
Cayenne E-Hybrid charging times
Both variants share the same 17.9 kWh battery and the same 7.2 kW onboard charger, so their charging times are identical. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is quoted at up to 27 miles WLTP and the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid at up to 25 miles WLTP. Figures below are empty to full, and remember that charging speed follows the car's onboard charger, not the cable rating.
| Cable type | Max charge rate | Estimated charge time | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type 2, 1-phase, 16A | 3.7 kW | 5 hours 30 mins | |
| Type 2, 1-phase, 32A | 7.2 kW | 3 hours | Best fit |
| Type 2, 3-phase, 32A | 7.2 kW | 3 hours | |
| Type 2 to 3-Pin | 2.3 kW | 8 hours (approx.) | Ideal backup |

Run-over proof
Built to take the weight of a car, so you can drive over the cable without damaging it (protection against pressure).
-
All-weather rated
Rated IP55, with the Type 2 to 3-Pin version rated IP67, and built to operate from -30°C to +60°C, so it charges reliably through UK rain, frost and summer heat.
-
Universal Type 2 fit
Works with all Type 2 electric vehicles and every UK/EU home wallbox and public AC charge point. No brand lock-in.
-
CE / TÜV certified
Independently certified to CE and TÜV, and built to the IEC 62196-2 Type 2 connector standard.
-
3-pin option for home sockets
Choose the 3-pin version to top up from a standard UK domestic socket when there is no wallbox nearby. It is a separate cable option, not an attachment.

Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
