Overview

The iOn does what a city car should. Narrow proportions let it weave through traffic, visibility is good, and the body is compact, yet the interior holds up on both size and quality against conventional rivals. It is rear-wheel drive, which contributes to a handy turning circle. Soft springs carry the worst of the bad road surfaces while body control stays acceptable, and the steering responds well. Equipment runs to USB connectivity, Bluetooth, a heated driver's seat and climate control, with alloy wheels, tinted rear windows and front fog lights on the options list.

The iOn is a small car and the range is small with it: 93 miles, though that depends on driving style and weather like any EV. In everyday use, with the air conditioning and the stereo on, 65 miles is the more realistic figure. Charging times, though, are in line with other makes and models.

Our iOn charging cables come in 5m and 10m, 16A or 32A single-phase, rated at 3.6kW or 7.2kW, with 2.5 to 6mm² copper conductors. IP55 weatherproofing, a -30°C to +60°C operating range, run-over proof build, CE marked and TÜV certified to IEC 62196-2, with a 24 month manufacturer warranty.

FAQs

Is this cable compatible with the Peugeot iOn?
Yes. This is a Type 2 charging cable, and the Peugeot iOn uses a Type 2 inlet. If you're unsure, your car's charge port should have a 7-pin Type 2 socket, or you can use our reg checker.
Which cable length should I choose?
Most driveways are fine with 5m. Choose 7-10m if the charge point is wall-mounted away from where you park or your charge port is on the far side of the car, and 15-20m for on-street or awkward layouts. Available here in 5m, 10m.
Can I use it at public charge points as well as at home?
Yes. This is a Mode 3 Type 2 cable, so it works at your home wallbox and at any untethered public AC charge point. Rapid DC chargers (motorway) come with their own tethered cables, so you don't need one for those.
What's the 3-pin option for?
The 3-pin (Mode 2 'granny') option lets you top up from a standard domestic socket at up to ~2.3kW when you're away from a wallbox. It's a backup for occasional use, not a daily charging method.
Is it safe to leave outside in the rain?
Yes. The cable and connectors are rated IP55 and built for -30°C to +60°C, so they're safe in UK rain, frost and snow. Don't submerge the connectors in standing water.
What warranty and delivery do I get?
