Overview
The electric Cooper keeps the shape and loses the engine. It takes a Type 2 connector and an 11kW onboard charger, which is more than the car really needs given the battery is not large.
That is the useful part for a buyer. A smaller battery fills quickly even at ordinary speeds, so on a 7.4kW home wallbox you are looking at a few hours rather than an overnight commitment. Paying up for a three-phase cable is hard to justify on this car unless you already have a three-phase supply sitting there.
Length is the one thing worth getting right. The Cooper is short, which sounds like it makes life easier and often does the opposite, because the socket ends up somewhere you did not expect relative to the wallbox. Measure the run before you order rather than after.
Which cable to choose
- Type 2 to Type 2. The everyday lead, for home wallboxes and public posts alike. 5m if the charger sits beside where you park, 10m if it is on the far wall or you use public bays.
- Type 2 to 3-pin. A Mode 2 lead for a household socket. Slow at 2.3kW and not a main charger, but worth keeping in the boot.
Every cable we sell is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated against British weather, and carries a two-year warranty. Most Cooper owners end up on a 32A single-phase lead.
The rest of the Mini range sits on our Mini charging cables page.

What customers say about us

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
