Overview
The Mercedes EQB uses a Type 2 connector port, which is the standard across the UK and is compatible with most EV charging stations. Pair it with a Type 2 lead and you can plug in almost anywhere, from a home wallbox to a motorway services post.
How to charge an EQB
- Find a charging station. The Mercedes me Charge app will show what is nearby, as will the usual public charge point maps.
- Plug the cable into the charging station or outlet, pushing the connector fully home.
- Open the charging port on the EQB, either using the charging port button in the car or through the Mercedes me app.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the car, again making sure it is properly seated.
- Check the charging indicator has lit up. Progress shows on the vehicle's display and in the app.
- When charging is complete, unplug at the car, unplug at the charging station, and close the charging port.
Our EQB cables come in 5m, 10m, 15m and 20m, at 16A or 32A, single or three-phase, covering 3.6kW, 7.2kW and 22kW. They are built to IEC 62196-2 (Type 2 / MENNEKES, 7-pin), CE marked and TUV certified, IP55 rated and good from -30°C to +60°C, with a 24 month manufacturer warranty and free next-working-day UK delivery on orders over £150.

Run-over proof
Built to take the weight of a car, so you can drive over the cable without damaging it (protection against pressure).
-
All-weather rated
Rated IP55, with the Type 2 to 3-Pin version rated IP67, and built to operate from -30°C to +60°C, so it charges reliably through UK rain, frost and summer heat.
-
Universal Type 2 fit
Works with all Type 2 electric vehicles and every UK/EU home wallbox and public AC charge point. No brand lock-in.
-
CE / TÜV certified
Independently certified to CE and TÜV, and built to the IEC 62196-2 Type 2 connector standard.
-
3-pin option for home sockets
Choose the 3-pin version to top up from a standard UK domestic socket when there is no wallbox nearby. It is a separate cable option, not an attachment.
-
Three-phase option
Pick the 32A three-phase version to charge at up to 22kW where a three-phase supply is available. The single-phase versions charge at up to 7.2kW on a standard home wallbox.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
