Overview
The UX 300e was launched in 2021 as the first all-electric model Lexus had put its badge on. It went first to China and Europe in a 2020 roll-out before reaching Japan the following year. Very little on the outside separates it from a regular UX: the hourglass grille carries over untouched, the rear end and its distinctive three-dimensional taillights are unchanged, and even the faux-off-roader body cladding stays put. A small electric badge along the rear doors and a unique wheel design are the only clues that this one plugs in.

Choose the 3-pin version to top up from a standard UK domestic socket when there is no wallbox nearby. It is a separate cable option, not an attachment.

Three-phase option
Pick the 32A three-phase version to charge at up to 22kW where a three-phase supply is available. The single-phase versions charge at up to 7.2kW on a standard home wallbox.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.
