Overview

Dongfeng cars reach Britain through importers rather than a large factory dealer network, and that is the practical reason to hold a spare cable. Sourcing a replacement lead through a small importer takes longer than it would from a mainstream marque, and you cannot charge in the meantime.

The cars themselves are conventional to charge. They use a Type 2 socket, so a standard Type 2 to Type 2 lead is the correct part and there is no proprietary connector to worry about.

Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated and carries a two-year warranty.

What cable does a Dongfeng need?

Do I have to buy through the importer?
No. These cars use the standard Type 2 connector, so any quality Type 2 lead fits.
Why keep a spare?
The UK network is small, so a replacement lead can take a while to arrive.
What is covered by the warranty?
