Overview
The Seal is BYD's saloon, and it charges on Type 2 with an 11kW onboard charger behind the flap.
What sets it apart when you are choosing a cable is the size of the battery. On a 7.4kW home wallbox a full charge is a genuinely long overnight session, which makes a 16amp lead a false economy on this car in a way it simply is not on a small hatchback. Buy the 32A. And if you happen to have three-phase at home, the 22kW lead cuts real hours off the charge here rather than shaving minutes, which is not the case on smaller cars.
Which cable to choose
- Type 2 to Type 2. The everyday lead, equally at home on a wallbox or a public post. 5m if the charger sits beside where you park, 10m if it is on the far wall or you rely on public bays.
- Type 2 to 3-pin. A Mode 2 lead for a household socket. At 2.3kW it is slow and it is not a main charger, but it is worth keeping in the boot.
Every cable we sell is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated against British weather, and carries a two-year warranty. Browse the full Type 2 range.

What customers say about us

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
