Overview
The BMW i8 requires a Type 2 charging cable, and this is the lead we supply for it. The cable is rated to charge at up to 22kW at 32 amp, 240v, so it has plenty of headroom, but the i8 itself accepts a maximum of 3.7kW and the cable will only ever charge to the capacity the car can handle.
It is TUV and CE certified, and compatible with all UK and European standard sockets and charging points, which makes it safe to use in internal or open-air offices and at home. A rubber cover keeps the connector intact when the lead is not in use, and the cable is both waterproof and dustproof for maximum durability.
Choose from 5m and 10m lengths. Every i8 cable comes with free delivery within the UK on orders over £150 and a two year manufacturer's warranty. Order before 4pm and it goes out the same working day. The rest of the range sits in our Type 2 charging cables.

Three-phase option
Pick the 32A three-phase version to charge at up to 22kW where a three-phase supply is available. The single-phase versions charge at up to 7.2kW on a standard home wallbox.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.
