Overview
The electric Frontera has a 54kWh battery and an 11kW onboard charger behind a Type 2 socket. The modest battery is good news for cable buying, because it means the ordinary single-phase lead is genuinely enough.
On a standard home wallbox the car draws 7.4kW, and 54kWh at that rate is a little over seven hours from completely empty. Plug in at six in the evening and it is done before bedtime. Three-phase would cut that to under five, but almost no British house is wired for it, and saving two hours on a charge you sleep through is not worth the extra outlay.
Choosing your lead
- Type 2 to Type 2. The one you will use daily. Measure from the charge port as the car sits when parked to the charging unit, then add a metre or two so you can park either way round.
- Type 2 to 3-pin. A Mode 2 lead for a household socket at 2.3kW, for places with no charger at all.
Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated, and covered by a two-year warranty. The rest of the Vauxhall range, Corsa and Mokka included, is on our Vauxhall charging cables page.

Features
-
Matched to the Frontera charge port
The electric Frontera charges through a Type 2 socket with an 11kW onboard charger, and every cable here ends in the matching connector.
-
A 54kWh battery makes single phase enough
At 7.4kW a full charge takes a little over seven hours. Plug in during the evening and it is finished before bed.
-
Three-phase saves about two hours you sleep through
It would bring a full charge under five hours, but almost no British house has three-phase, and the saving lands overnight anyway.
-
Measure, then add a little
Measure from the charge port as the car sits when parked to the charging unit, then go slightly longer so you can park either way round.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.

What customers say about us

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
