Overview
The e Vitara is Suzuki's first proper electric car in Britain, which means most of the people buying one are charging a car for the first time. If that is you, the short version is this: you need a Type 2 lead, and the one that came with the car is probably a 3-pin granny charger rather than the cable you will actually use daily.
The everyday cable is Type 2 at both ends. It plugs into a home wallbox or a public post, and it is the one that goes missing or gets left at work. A 32amp single-phase lead suits the e Vitara and will still suit whatever you buy next.
Get the length right first time. Measure from the charge port as the car sits when parked to the charging unit, then add a metre or two so you can park facing either way without moving the cable run.
Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated and carries a two-year warranty.

Features
-
Matched to the e Vitara charge port
The e Vitara charges through a Type 2 socket, and every cable here ends in the matching connector.
-
The lead in the boot is probably not the one you need
Cars usually ship with a 3-pin granny charger. The everyday cable is Type 2 at both ends, for wallboxes and public posts.
-
32amp single phase suits it and outlasts it
It matches what the car can draw on a home supply, and still suits a faster EV later.
-
Measure before you buy
From the charge port as the car sits when parked to the charging unit, then add a metre or two so you can park either way round.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.
In the box

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
