Overview
The Spring is the cheapest electric car on sale in Britain, and its charging needs are as modest as its price. It takes a Type 2 lead like everything else, but the battery is small and the onboard charger is not fast, so this is the one car on our site where the cheapest cable is genuinely the right one.
Buying a 22kW three-phase lead for a Spring would cost more than the charging hardware in the car can ever use. The 16amp and 32amp single-phase leads both cover it comfortably. Put the money into length instead: a 10m lead that reaches the far side of the drive is worth more to you every single day than a power rating the car cannot draw.
Choosing your lead
- Type 2 to Type 2. The everyday lead, at home and on public posts.
- Type 2 to 3-pin. A Mode 2 lead for a household socket. On a small battery this is more practical than it is on most cars, because 2.3kW can still put a useful amount in overnight.
Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated and carries a two-year warranty.

Features
-
Matched to the Dacia charge port
The Spring charges through a Type 2 socket, and every cable here ends in the matching connector.
-
The cheapest lead is the right lead here
The battery is small and the onboard charger is modest. A 22kW three-phase cable would cost more than the car can ever use.
-
Spend the money on length, not power
A 10m lead that reaches the far side of the drive is worth more every day than a rating the car cannot draw.
-
The 3-pin lead is unusually useful on a Spring
2.3kW fills a small battery overnight in a way it never would on a 90kWh car.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
