Choosing a cable for the Citroën C-Zero
The C-Zero uses a Type 1 connection, so pairing it with a home charger means a Type 1 to Type 2 charging cable. The cable needs to handle 3.7 kW, because that is the fastest the C-Zero will charge. You can use a cable with a higher capacity, but the car simply limits it to its own maximum, so you gain nothing. To keep your costs sensible, we suggest a 16amp, single-phase lead. The only decision left is length, and that is down to your own situation and how far the cable has to reach from charger to charge port. Will the same cable work on another car?
Yes. Because the C-Zero takes a Type 1 to Type 2 cable, it will serve any other Type 1 car, which is useful in a household or workplace running more than one electric vehicle. The most common Type 1 models include the Mitsubishi Outlander, the Fiat 500e and the Honda Clarity.
Looking after it
A charging cable can be protected from both damage and theft with a few simple habits. The lead is IP66 rated, so it copes with water and dust, but that is not the same as being invincible. Store it somewhere dry. Avoid leaving it lying on the floor, where the pins can rust over time. Hanging it up is the single best change most owners make, since it takes the cable out of the path of your own wheels and everyone else's.

Conductors are 2.5 to 6mm² copper depending on current rating, the build is run-over proof, and the operating range runs from -30°C to +60°C. Every lead is CE marked and TÜV certified to IEC 62196-2 and comes with a 24 month manufacturer warranty.
