Overview
Cadillac came back to Britain as an electric brand, and the Lyriq is a large car with a large battery. The important thing for a UK buyer is that the European cars use a Type 2 socket, not the connector fitted to the same models in North America.
That matters because American accessories and American advice will not apply. Anything you read about a Cadillac charging cable written for the US market is describing different hardware. In Britain you want an ordinary Type 2 to Type 2 lead, the same one a Volkswagen or a BMW takes.
On a big battery, length is worth thinking about twice. These are long cars, the charge port can end up well away from the wall, and a lead that only just reaches is one you will resent every winter.
Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated and carries a two-year warranty.

Features
-
UK cars use Type 2, not the North American connector
European Cadillacs are fitted with the standard Type 2 socket, so US accessories and US advice do not apply.
-
The same lead a Volkswagen or BMW takes
There is nothing Cadillac-specific about the cable. Any quality Type 2 lead is the correct part.
-
Buy longer than you think on a long car
The charge port can sit well away from the wall, and a lead that only just reaches becomes a daily annoyance.
-
5m to 20m
10m suits most driveways, with 15m and 20m for awkward parking or detached garages.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.
- 03Check the car shows a charging state before you walk away.
- 04Coil loosely into the bag - no tight figure-of-eights.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
