Overview
Aiways sold the U5 and U6 in Britain and then withdrew, which leaves owners in an awkward position: the cars are perfectly serviceable, but there is no dealer network to go back to for the things that wear out or go missing.
The charging cable is the most likely of those. It is the one component that leaves the car regularly, gets left at work, gets damaged by a gate. If yours has gone, you do not need Aiways to replace it, because the U5 and U6 use a standard Type 2 socket like every other EV sold in Europe.
Any quality Type 2 to Type 2 lead is the correct part. The 32amp single-phase version is the everyday one. There is nothing brand-specific about it and nothing you need a franchise for.
Every cable is CE and TUV certified, IP55 rated and carries a two-year warranty.

Features
-
For owners with no dealer network
Aiways withdrew from the UK. The cars still work, but there is nowhere to go back to for parts.
-
The cable is the part most likely to go missing
It is the one component that leaves the car regularly, and the easiest to replace independently.
-
A standard Type 2 socket, not a brand-specific part
The U5 and U6 use the same connector as every other EV sold in Europe.
-
32amp single phase is the everyday lead
It matches what the car draws on a British home supply.
Installation
- 01Unlock the car - most won't accept a cable while locked.
- 02Wallbox end first, then the car. Push until the latch clicks.

First class service
First class service. Ordered 15m cable and it was delivered next day. Minor hiccup in that the accompanying bag was missing. Quick email to Jake at EV Cable Hub and the bag arrived next working day. 1st class product and even better customer service. Thank you.
