This 32amp adapter converts an existing Type 1 cable to Type 2. If you have a Type 1 tethered lead on your charge point and a Type 2 car you are trying to plug in, this is the part that bridges the gap.

It is a genuinely useful bit of kit for anyone caught between an older charging installation and a newer vehicle, and it saves ripping out a tethered unit that is otherwise working perfectly well.

Please read before ordering. We have been informed by Pod Point that charging adaptors are not permitted on their charging stations, so this will not work on the Pod Point network. If most of your charging happens on Pod Point units, a straight Type 2 cable is the answer instead.

What does this adapter actually do?

No. We have been informed by Pod Point that charging adaptors are not permitted on their charging stations. If most of your charging happens on Pod Point units, a straight Type 2 cable is the answer instead.
Do I need this if my cable and my car are both Type 2?
No. The adapter only exists to solve a Type 1 to Type 2 mismatch. If both ends already match, a normal Type 2 cable is all you need.
